Hey Simone,

I was catching up on your entries and I decided to let you know that we are talking you up in the Weekly Bulletin! With pictures even!

Last week, I included a link to your Washington Post article and the week before I included the Polartrec link with your Simone Welch, Science Detective picture per our principal's suggestion.

An OCC member of the Communications Committee has started talking to me about have a parent work an assembly at the other campus. How confusing would that be for you? Would you talk to both campuses simultaneously? 15 minutes for questions from each? If we can borrow a web cam or speakerphone, should we go for the whole enchilada? I just worry about trying to host big groups of students in the same room...Seeing is easier than hearing given what we have at the moment.

Please send me an email when you can.

The pictures of the animals are great! Here is a question for you: How could you identify those specific gulls from so far away?

Simone Welch

Hellooo unidentified PR person- (Melissa, I assume)As many groups can join as possible.  I will be talking through a webinar so as long as the individual groups are registered through the site, it should be no problem.  Is the same date a time still ok?
The birds were identified by one of our in-house bird experts who is conducting a field survey of birds in the Bering Sea, Marty Reedy. He zoomed in closely on the wing tips and beaks of the birds to positively identify them.  He's good!
