Hi my names Jon and i am also from Pope John Paul high school also taking marine science. I'm sure you all know the location of my school by now with all these questions by my class mates like my buddy John Carlos. Anyways, while i was reading Brian DuBay's journal about bad weather and how it has stopped most planes from flying out. I was wondering, could the weather conditions get so severe where McMurdo station could not receive shipments of food? if so, how long could McMurdo station last without these shipments?

thank you,

Jonathan Pugh

Shortages do happen often when bad weather rolls in. McMurdo stock piles food in huge freezers in case of such events. When its time to eat the food tastes a little strange because some of it has been frozen for years. One time I ate a snickers from three years ago. The fresh fruits and vegetables are usually gone by December so by the end of the season in February the food is pretty rough.
