Greetings: I just read an online article on the Totten Glacierthat was most likely poorly researched and I wanted to get some direction to a reference that has accurate information. The article stated that the Totten Glacier melt could potentially create a 6 m rise in sea level. With the stated dimensions of 120km by 30km, the thickness required for such a rise is a bit excessive, even assuming that the entire mass is land supported. So, now my interest is piqued and I am looking for a primer on the ice pack in this region. I suffer from s-l-o-w internet access (bad dial-up speed) and have been a bit frustrated with the returns I have been able to get…any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your help, Steve Costello stevcostello [at] gmail.com
