What type of bird species are you seeing in the Tundra ?

Appalachians. The other evening I got to see a Smith's Longspur, which
is a real treat to get to see, much less watch a nesting pair for an
hour or so. Yesterday a golden eagle flew over our work site; it was
being harassed by a pair of long-tailed jaegers. Today I'm hoping to
check out a pair of loons here at Toolik Lake. Every day brings a new
bird into my awareness, I had no idea there were so many different
species here. I will be posting a journal focusing on birds as I have a
cool video I took of an American Golden Plover.
Do you watch the birds where you live? I find it is a really neat way
to connect with my outdoor surroundings and get just a hint of all the
goings on around me.
Thanks for the question!

Are you getting to see many Ptarmigan and if so, have they completed their seasonal molt from winter to summer yet???
We will look forward to your answer..
Keep up the great work!!

Yes the plover is awesome, I was hoping to get a couple more bird photos
together to make a complete journal, or maybe not! The ptarmigan have
molted, and yesterday I saw a mom with 6 chicks! The chicks look pretty
much like baby chickens...pretty cute!
Thanks for reading my journals!!!
