Winter Sampling

I was wandering how many copopods have you seen since you have been down there???

We have seen about 20 different species and by last "guess" about a quarter of a million copepods! We don't actually count every one...we "sample"...we have been preserving about 60 from each tow to be analyzed and the others are preserved in a big jar to be counted when the scientists get back to the lab in Rhode Island!
