HI Chantelle! I see what you mean about snow! The deck of the ship is as white as the ice on the sea! Don't you just love it??? You mentioned that the PMEL mooring would also gather "acoustic records"- what does that mean? Lollie :)

Good question! The mooring will be sending a high pitch sound wave through the water column that will be bounced back to it. Depending upon the acoustic signature, scientists will be able to determine the amount of zooplankton in the water. When it was explained to me, they said it is sort of like an ultrasound!

Thanks for the info Chantelle!I was sooo distraught today...we have been plagued by daily internet interruptions at school for 2 weeks!! Always in the middle of something. We missed your Live Event because of it. I wanted to "be" there so badly!! If we are up tomorrow, we will watch the archive. Are you by chance able to call classrooms? If so, I'd love to make plans for you to call us!!
