Ok, so this question is on topic at the same time as it's not. I appologize for this. So once elected to go on the trip did you become nervous about leavig your family for so long? Also if you had the chance would you do this expedition over again, since this one been such a success? I don't think I could leave all my friends and family for so long. Exspecialy through Thanksgiving, and almost all up untill Christmas. I would want to spend as much time with family as possible. ~Tabi~

I was selected almost 2 years ago. The expedition was supposed to be LAST January...then the ship had problems. I was never nervous about leaving, maybe just a little apprehensive. Then this Spring they said,YES - the trip will happen aboard Healy...then they say,No - wait we might not have a ship...so I guess there was so much "we're going"...no "we're not going" that I never really had time to THINK about being gone until it actually happened. It was probably better that way! I really didn't think it was going to work out logistically. Even the Chief Scientist made comments the week before we left that she would believe it when we were aboard Healy!
