Winter Sampling

I remember proof reading a paper about zooplankton about 18 years ago. Are copepods just zooplankton on steriods? Is any of that paper coming back to you?

I remember studying zebra mussels and their effect on the Great Lakes while in college. Copepods can be large - but they can also be small. We are catching several different species of copepods - Calanus just happens to be one of the larger species. My high school students looked at Cyclops - which was a much smaller species of freshwater copepod before I left for this voyage!
