Hi Mr. Will, We were wondering how far you can walk within a day; is it a challenging walk or is it easy since you're used to hiking a lot? We've missed you a lot here, but have enjoyed your journal entries to know what you're up to. We've been learning a lot of interesting things from Mrs. MacLeod such as biomes and the food chain. We look forward to seeing you on the 28th!

Your students, Cody, Josh and Lexi

Hey There Cody, Josh and Lexi,Since we were really only worried about properly acclimatizing the actual mileage we did every day going up was pretty small. The longest day up was maybe about 3 or 4 miles. We had backpacks, were pulling plastic sleds with other gear, were using heavy mountaineering skis and boots and finally were roped together so in case someone fell in a crevasse rescue would be easy. The pace was very slow which I think you can see on the website with a video or two.
The one exception was a 10 mile ski from the campsite at 11,000 down to base camp at 7,500 or so feet of elevation. It was mostly downhill and someone took my sled for me, so I made the entire 10 miles in one day. I was tired at the end, but did okay.
