Hi my name is Paul and I am from Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton Florida. I am currently taking a Marine Science course and I was womdering what was in the old hut you encountered that was used by Robert Falcon Scott.

Inside the hut was everything they used and needed for their expedition. There was clothing, dead seals, lamb, canned goods, skillets, a stove, and pemmacin. Pemmacin is a mixture of fat and protein that is very concentrated into a biscuit. They would feed it to their sled dogs but as supplies ran low they were eaten that as well. As of yesterday they started emptying the hut for the first time ever. The hut is having some structural repairs done then everything will be placed back into its original location. I am glad I got to see the hut in its pristine condition like when it was found back in the 50's.
