Pre-Field Call

This is Happening

Tomorrow evening I will be having my pre-field call. This is the call where all the details for traveling to Greenland will be discussed. So I am sitting in my classroom today looking up how to call in for the pre-field call and it finally hits me...I will be leaving for Greenland in less that a two months. Followed by that thought is a moment of panic. I have a lot of work to do.

The first item on my list is to work on the education portion. I am currently starting to make some contacts with the public. I will be able to use these resources to reach the public audience. In May I plan on having my students design experiments for me to carry out in Greenland. I am also starting to work with the art teacher on making flags or post cards made by the students to take to Greenland. Einstein, my class mascot, is also packing his bags to travel to Greenland.

The second item on my list is to review all the technology I learned at orientation. I received my satellite phone in the mail today and at first couldn't even get the box open. I am hoping this is not a foretelling on how my technology review is going to go. Anyways, I am also starting to review on how to post pictures and videos on my blog. Therefore, I am going to start writing regularly to get into the habit and practice. Plus, I still have a lot of pictures from Alaska to share. So stay tuned for lots of pictures coming your way.

Have a good night and I look forward to updating you on my planning. I am off to plan a physics lesson using Angry Birds.

It will be here before we know it! What a great idea to have the kids design experiments.
