Bobby

What a fine vessel

Peggy McNeal

Yes! And my crew isn't too shabby either (too use Courtney-speak :)

Stephanie

Looks freezing but I know you are loving it! Are you recording all these videos and setting them to music with the captions? Where did you learn to do that? Do you have a special program?

Peggy McNeal

It's cold, but we are dressed for it and moving, so it's not too bad. Yes, I made the videos in iMovie. So simple, even I can do it :)

Chill

Peggy,Glad to see your putting all those seamanship and navigation skills to good use. ;) Good luck with the expedition.

Peggy McNeal

Hi Chill,Those are some pretty old skills. I'm trying to resurrect them, though. So far, so good. I'm just glad that I don't have to break out the mo board.

Diana Rink

Hi Peggy,Just wanted to say looks like quite the adventure! What an amazing opportunity to do some wonderful research and be out there in the wild! Looks a bit chilly , but you look like you are prepared.
Take care
Diana Rink

Peggy McNeal

Thanks, Diana! This is an amazing opportunity. We get to do science research in one of the most scenic places on Earth. We are staying warm. It is great to hear from you and thanks for connecting.

The Wilson Gang

Wow! It looks extremely cold out there. If someone were to fall out of the boat how long would they have before their situation becomes dire? Is everyone trained to save them?

Peggy McNeal

Hi Wilson gang!It is extremely cold in the water, like just above freezing. I'm going to say the situation would be dire immediately! Ya, we don't want that to happen. But we are wearing survival suits! (Did you think we were in all orange for fashion? You girls should know better than that!) We are not trained to save each other, but we did train in wearing the suits and floating in them. They are a dry suit and flotation device in one. Worn properly, water will not penetrate the suit and that gives us time to get rescued. You can read more about that in the July 30 journal. Thanks for connecting and stay tuned!
