Friday Night Talk
Marguerite Mauritz and I presented to Denali Park visitors on Friday night. Marguerite explained the CiPEHR project, and I talked about PolarTREC and my experience as a research flunky.

On my way to the research cabin, I stopped in at Henry's Coffee House. His espresso machine makes excellent lattes, and oh, the cinnamon roll!

The weather gods decided that Michael deserved a beautiful day of sunshine, since he has been drenched for two months working in the field.
The Savage River hike takes you straight up to a ridge for fantastic views of the river and surrounding mountains, and OH MY the cutest little pika!

Each night, I peddle home to the cabin at about 9:00. By August 14th, the night is beginning to close in here in Alaska, and the sun sets at about 9:30. The clear skies, the sunset and the moon were spectacular and made me already miss this magical land.
