What means do you use to keep yourself warm & comfortable? Is your sleeping area heated?

Don't you wish that you had the Hawaiian sunshine with you. . . . . we all miss you alot. What kind of animals do you see there? hope you are enjoying yourself.

From across the Blue Pacific . . . . . we send you our warmest ALOHA . . .

Ya HOO! Thanks for writing! :)
I keeep warm by wearing two pairs of everything, 2 pairs of thick fleece socks, a pair of long underwear and one fleece pants or jeans over that, a long underwear top and regular top and my big poofy jacket, and ofter two pairs of gloves.

Our sleeping area is heated slightly, I have sheets, my fleece sleeping bag, 2 big blankets and a woolen throw over it all.

Today, the helicopter crew saw a beluga whale in an open polynya (pond of open water in the middle of the ice) They also saw a big polar bear eating the remains of a walrus baby.

We are still in the very thick ice, so we don't see animals unless there is an opening in the water. Understand the reason WHY all these cool animals are here is because of all the phytoplankton (sea algae) growing underneath the ice. We see it when the icebreaker breaks through the ice and flips the blocks over.

Of course I miss you all. I was so sad that our conversation was cut short. Please be good in the future. I have to wait another 10 days until I can talk with you all again. :(

Be GOOD!
Aloha,
Mrs. P
